Construction is nearing completion at the site of our new Skilled Nursing facility, across the street from our main hospital building. When fully operational, our Skilled Nursing Facility will host 36 beds at full capacity, and bring 79 job opportunities to our community, contributing a total of $2 million per year in salaries and wages. The facility will provide long term custodial care. Check out the slideshow below to stay up to date with construction progress and time of completion. Below the slide show is an extensive FAQ, Estate Planning workshop video, and a submission form for any Skilled Nursing Facility related questions.
Services at the PDH Skilled Nursing Facility are mainly covered through Medi-Cal Long Term Care benefits (Under the Nursing Home Medicaid Program). Please note that if you are eligible for these benefits there will still be a share of cost, determined by Medi-Cal. To be eligible for Medi-Cal a person has to meet certain financial requirements and functional (Medi-Cal) requirements. The financial requirements vary by the applicant’s marital status, if their spouse is also applying for Medicaid and what program they are applying for, such as the Nursing Home Medicaid Program. The easiest way to find the most current Medi-Cal eligibility criteria for your specific situation is to use the Medicaid Eligibility Requirements Finder tool.
Starting on January 1, 2024, assets, such as bank accounts, cash, a second vehicle, and homes, will no longer be counted when determining Medi-Cal eligibility. Income and income from assets, such as income from property, will continue to be counted.
Yes. On January 1st, 2024 Medi-Cal changed their asset eligibility requirements. If you believe you may be eligible for Medi-Cal with the asset change, learn more and apply at http://www.dhcs.ca.gov/Get-Medi-Cal/Pages/default.aspx . In March of 2024, Attorney Kelly Carrol hosted an estate-planning workshop in Quincy and answered community members' questions in the video below.
You still might be requested to provide documents to verify your income from property/assets, with the Social Services Department in the county which you reside/or previously resided in.
If your coverage is denied, delayed, reduced, or stopped, you can contact your local Medi-Cal office to review your case. You can also ask for a State Fair Hearing to determine your eligibility if you disagree with the decision. Call the State Hearings Division toll-free at (800) 743-8525. If you ask for a hearing before your Medi-Cal ends, your coverage will continue during the process.
